If you do not make a Will your estate will go ‘into administration’ which means that……..

• Your assets are frozen until the court appoints someone to administer your affairs.

• Your assets will be distributed by the courts according to the rules of intestacy.

• The time it takes to distribute your assets could be months or even years. Meanwhile, your family can suffer financial hardship awaiting everything being sorted out.

• The courts will decide how to distribute your assets.

• Your spouse will not automatically inherit everything.

• If you are not married, your partner has no legal right to inherit anything.

• If you have children, the courts and social services will decide who will bring them up.

• If you have stepchildren they will be disinherited and children from a previous relationships may also be disinherited.

• You could end up paying thousands in unnecessary Inheritance Tax.

• If you have to go into a care home your life savings could be reduced to £17,250 if you live in Wales and £13,000 if you live in England.

So, if you …….

• Are determined to make sure that your assets (money and property) end up in the right hands.

• Care about providing for your nearest and dearest when you are not around to do so.

• Want to ensure that your home is not swallowed up in care home costs.

• Want to ensure that you minimise or remove your liability for Inheritance Tax.

…….You need to write a Will!

..........and the cost of administering an estate without a Will is higher than with a Will.
